If this argument didn’t hang so very much on the author’s astonishment that a more technologically advanced society doesn’t use dead-tree books, there might be something more to it, though at least the ‘Jedi myth’ bit was interesting. Mind you, this all falls apart if you start looking at the expanded universe. But there you go.
